Aspidobothrys Reuter

Description

Genus Aspidobothrys Reuter

Aspidobothrys Reuter, 1907: 33. Type species: Eccritotarsus dimidiatus Stål, 1860. Original designation. Aspidobothrus: Bergroth, 1922: 16 (unnecessary emendation).

Diagnosis. Body oval and shinning. Head vertical, triangular, strongly transverse, obtusely round between antennae; clypeus vertical, compressed and strongly projecting at base of the antennae; front flat and smooth; eyes small, with posterior margin straight; antennal segment I slender on basal 1/3, thicker than the other segments, and nearly reaching the apex of the clypeus; rostrum usually very thick, short, reaching the anterior coxae. Pronotum with large collarlike anterior margin; calli long and oblique, somewhat convex; disc smooth or slightly punctate.
