Astenus pauliani Lecoq, 1996: 25.
Type locality. Madagascar Est, Nosy Mangabe.
Material examined (2 specimens). MADAGASCAR: 2 ♂♂: Farank. [Farankaraina], -15.4283 49.8456, 132m, 6.xii.2018, sift [sifting], MD14, V. Grebennikov (JJRC, 1 spec. stored in 96 % alcohol).
Distribution. The species was hitherto known from the island Nosy Mangabe, Mt. Andrangoatra, Ambohitsitondroina and Ambodiavoangy. The new record is situated near this region.
