Basionym: Saintpaulia teitensis Burtt (1958: 559).
Lectotype (selected by Darbyshire 2006): KENYA. Teita: Mbololo Hill, in forest near water, October 1938, Boy Joanna, Coryndon Museum no. 8982 (K! sheet 2, duplicates EA, K! sheet 3).
