Es ist der erste Nachweis der Art für Finnland. Sie kommt in weiten Teilen Europas vor. Ihr Areal reicht aber bis in die Ostpaläarktis, wie das von HELLÉN als Agrypon (Labrorychus) flaviventris neu beschriebene Exemplar aus Sibirien zeigt (siehe Seite 156). Er hat die Artgleichheit der Tiere aus Finby und Särkisalo mit seiner „neuen“ Art nicht erkannt. Sie steckten in der Sammlung unter „ Barylypa insidiator “. Das Exemplar aus Ljubljana wurde von ihm allerdings als „ Barylypa ? carinata “ angesehen. Dieser Name ist ebenfalls synonym zu B. propugnator (SCHNEE 2008).
Die finnischen Exemplare flogen zwischen dem 4. Juli und dem 3. August. Wirte sind noch nicht bekannt.
