Type. Oceanie? Not located.
Remarks. It is not possible to determine either the sex of this specimen or the precise locality from Boisduval’s original description. He described a specimen dorsally pale with base and apex of elytra black. Asymmetricata humeralis has a somewhat similar colour pattern with the dorsum pale brown and base and apex of elytra dark brown (not black). Atyphella telokdalam sp. nov. from Sumatra is dorsally pale brown with elytral apices and bases darker brown (not black).
