Description
Species group formosanus (Shiraki, 1911)

Type species: Ectatoderus formosanus Shiraki, 1911: 192 (China: Taiwan).
Diagnosis. Compared with other species groups of Ornebius, this species group is distinguished by the male phallic complex, clockwork-like and the medial valve curved to a spiral in basal part with its base forming an axis in the centre of the spiral (Fig. 1).
Besides the type species, the species group includes O. albalatus, O. polycomus, O. apterus, O. panda, O. yunnanensis, Ornebius lunam sp. n. and Ornebius aurumalas sp. n.
