154. Haemaphysalis sumatraensis Hoogstraal, El Kammah, Kadarsan and Anastos, 1971.

An Oriental species whose adults have been found on Artiodactyla: Cervidae and Suidae, and Carnivora: Canidae and Felidae; undetermined immature stages have been collected from Carnivora: Viverridae. There are no records of Haemaphysalis sumatraensis causing human parasitism.

Redescriptions: none

Note: Camicas et al. (1998) treat the larva of Haemaphysalis sumatraensis as undescribed, but there is no reason to question its description in Kadarsan (1971).
