48. Ixodes columnae Takada and Fujita, 1992.
A Palearctic species (see note below), all of whose known parasitic stages have been found on Rodentia: Sciuridae; immature stages have been collected from Rodentia: Cricetidae and Muridae, Galliformes: Phasianidae, Passeriformes (several families), and Piciformes: Picidae. Ixodes columnae is a very rare parasite of humans.

Note: Guglielmone and Robbins (2018) state that if Taiwanese records in Kuo et al. (2017) are confirmed, Ixodes columnae will be an Oriental and Palearctic species.
