Oryzomys melanotis

Description

melanotis

Karyotype: 2n = 62 and FN = 70. Autosomal complement: one medium subtelocentric pair, four metacentric pairs (one medium and three small), and 25 acrocentric pairs large to small decreasing in size. Sex chromosomes: X, a large metacentric; Y, a medium subtelocentric. C-banding metaphases exhibited blocks of constitutive heterochromatin on the pericentromeric region of all autosomes. The X chromosome presented a pericentromeric heterochromatic blocks (Haiduk et al. 1979, pp. 611, Fig. 1A). G-banding karyotype was performed by Haiduk et al. (1979) and Baker et al. (1983).
