Description

Haemaphysalis papuana Thorell, 1883

Haemaphysalis papuana is known from Cambodia, peninsular Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Its main hosts are wild pigs, but it has also been recorded from honey bear (Helarctos malayanus) and the domestic dog (Trapido et al. 1964a; Tanskul et al. 1983; Kolonin 1995, 2009).

The male, female and nymph are described in Trapido et al. (1964a).
