Description
Caliothrips insularis (Hood)
(Figs 13, 81, 99)
Commonly associated with grasses, this species is widespread and native to the Neotropics (Mound & Marullo 1996). Apart from the characters in the key, it has antennal segments III–V pale with brown apical halves, fore wing with base brown and median band brown, gradually becoming pale before dark brown apex (Fig. 81). Male is unknown.
