Lectotype (Weitz in S. African J. Bot. 55: 605. 1989): [icon] " Bupleuri folia semine papposo, Valerianoides, Umbellata, cauliculo scabro, ex Promontor Bon. Spei " in Plukenet, Phytographia: t. 272, f. 5. 1694; Almag. Bot.: 73. 1696.
Current name: Corymbium africanum L. subsp. scabridum (P.J. Bergius) Weitz (Asteraceae).
