Description
Athanasia genistifolia Linnaeus, Systema Naturae, ed. 12, 2: 540. 1767.
["Habitat ad Cap. b. spei."] Mant. Pl. Alt.: 464 (1771). RCN: 6108.
Lectotype (Bremer in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 355. 1998): Herb. Linn. No. 986.6 (LINN).
Current name: Oedera genistifolia (L.) Anderb. & K. Bremer (Asteraceae).
Note: Bremer (in Opera Bot. 40: 39. 1976) designated 986.5 (LINN) as lectotype, a specimen from Tulbagh which Linnaeus did not receive until 1769 and is consequently not original material for the name. Bremer subsequently chose a different lectotype.
