Arethusa ophioglossoides Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 951. 1753.
"Habitat in Virginia, Canada." RCN: 6872.
Lectotype (Sheviak in Cafferty & Jarvis in Taxon 48: 47. 1999): Kalm, Herb. Linn. No. 1059.2 (LINN).
Current name: Pogonia ophioglossoides (L.) Ker-Gawl. (Orchidaceae).
