Description

Lemna gibba Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 970. 1753.

"Habitat in Europae aquis segnibus." RCN: 7042.

Lectotype (Hashimi & Omer in Nasir & Ali, Fl. Pakistan 173: 5. 1986): [icon] " Lenticula palustris, major, inferne magis convexa, fructu polyspermo " in Micheli, Nov. Pl. Gen.: 15, t. 11, f. 2. 1729.

Current name: Lemna gibba L. (Lemnaceae).

Note: Although Riedl (in Rechinger, Fl. Iranica 119: 4. 1976) indicated material in the Clifford herbarium as type, there is none preserved there.
