Description
Protea cucullata (Linnaeus) Linnaeus, Mantissa Plantarum Altera: 189. 1771.
["Habitat ad Cap. b. spei locis uliginosis."] Sp. Pl. 1: 93 (1753). RCN: 764.
Basionym: Leucadendron cucullatum L. (1753).
Lectotype (Rourke in J. S. African Bot. 50: 182. 1984): [icon] " Hypophyllocarpodendron; foliis inferioribus apice trifido, rubro, superioribus penitus rubris, glabris " in Boerhaave, Index Alter Pl. Hort. Lugdb.-Bat. 2: 206. 1720.
Current name: Mimetes cucullatus (L.) R. Br. (Proteaceae).
