Conserved type (Verdcourt in Taxon 45: 539. 1996): Hispaniola. Dominican Republic, Azua, San José de Ocoa, slope of Loma de Rancho, 23 Feb 1929, Ekman H 11627 (K; iso- B, LD, S, UPS).
Current name: Nephrolepis cordifolia (L.) C. Presl (Nephrolepidaceae).
