  • 1. Department of Botany, Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, London, UK

Description

Polypodium cambricum Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 1086. 1753.

"Habitat in Anglia." RCN: 7874.

Lectotype (Nardi in Webbia 33: 426. 1979): Herb. Linn. No. 1251.9 (LINN).

Current name: Polypodium cambricum L. (Polypodiaceae).

Note: Shivas (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 58: 28. 1961) rejected the name as based on a monstrosity but, since the Leningrad Code (1975), names based on such specimens are valid, and later authors have again taken up P. cambricum. See review by Pichi Sermolli (in Webbia 40: 49-50. 1986).
