Description

Polygala cruciata Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 706. 1753.

"Habitat in Virginia." RCN: 5163.

Lectotype (designated here by Reveal): Clayton 157 (BM-000038187).

Current name: Polygala cruciata L. (Polygalaceae).

Note: Although Fernald & Schubert (in Rhodora 50: 164. 1948) discussed the identity of Clayton 157 (BM), they did not typify the name.
