Caesalpinia vesicaria Linnaeus 1753

  • 1. Department of Botany, Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, London, UK

Description

Poinciana bijuga Linnaeus, Species Plantarum, ed. 2, 1: 544. 1762, nom. illeg.

"Habitat in Indiis." RCN: 2990.

Replaced synonym: Poinciana bijugata Jacq. (1760).

Type not designated.

Current name: Caesalpinia vesicaria L. (Fabaceae: Caesalpinioideae).

Note: This is evidently an illegitimate renaming of Poinciana bijugata Jacq. (1760), or possibly an orthographic variant of it. In either case, the name is homotypic with that of Jacquin.
