Thea bohea Linnaeus, Species Plantarum, ed. 2, 1: 734. 1762, nom. illeg.

"Habitat in Japonia, China." RCN: 3882.

Replaced synonym: Thea sinensis L. (1753).

Lectotype (Bartholomew in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 93. 1993): [icon] “Tsja” in Kaempfer, Amoen. Exot. Fasc.: 605, 606. 1712.

Current name: Camellia sinensis (L.) Kuntze (Theaceae).

Note: A superfluous name for T. sinensis L. (1753).
