Description

Tagetes minuta Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 887. 1753.

"Habitat in Chili." RCN: 6419.

Lectotype (Delgado Montano in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 368. 1998): [icon] "Tagetes multiflora, minuto flore albicante" in Dillenius, Hort. Eltham. 2: 374, t. 280, f. 362. 1732.

Current name: Tagetes minuta L. (Asteraceae).

Note: Hind (in Bosser & al., Fl. Mascareignes 109: 224. 1993) indicated, though with doubt (“?”), Clifford material as type, but there is no relevant material preserved in the Clifford herbarium.
