Note: See Stearn (in Geck & Pressler, Festschr. Claus Nissen: 643. 1974), who reproduces the account by Magnol that validates this name. Stearn added that the plant described by Magnol "is evidently the widespread Mediterranean species commonly known as E. pubescens Vahl ".
