Lectotype (Stearn, Introd. Linnaeus’ Sp. Pl. (Ray Soc. ed.): 47. 1957): [icon] " Gladiolus foliis linearibus " in Linnaeus, Hort. Cliff.: 20, t. 6. 1738.
Current name: Gladiolus angustus L. (Iridaceae).
Note: Lewis & Obermeyer (in J. S. African Bot., Suppl. 10: 88. 1972) designated 59.16 (LINN) as type, but this choice is pre-dated by that of Stearn.
