Ruscus hypoglossum Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 1041. 1753.
"Habitat in Hungariae, Liguriae, Italiae montibus umbrosis." RCN: 7526.
Type not designated.
Original material: Herb. Clifford: 465, Ruscus 3, 2 sheets (BM); [icon] in Colonna, Ekphr.: 166, 165. 1606.
Current name: Ruscus hypoglossum L. (Liliaceae/Ruscaceae).
Note: Yeo (in Notes Roy. Bot. Gard. Edinburgh 28: 252. 1968) indicated Clifford material as the lectotype but did not distinguish between two sheets there associated with this name. As they are evidently not part of a single gathering, Art. 9.15 does not apply.
