Lectotype (Linder in Bothalia 15: 402. 1985): Herb. Linn. No. 1164.3 (LINN).
Generitype of Restio Linnaeus, nom. rej.
Current name: Ischyrolepis capensis (L.) H.P. Linder (Restionaceae).
Note: Restio Linnaeus, nom. rej. in favour of Restio Rottböll. Restio dichotomus is a superfluous name for Schoenus capensis L.
