Description

Mimosa quadrivalvis Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 522. 1753.

"Habitat in Vera Cruce." RCN: 7692.

Lectotype (Barneby in Mem. New York Bot. Gard. 65: 295. 1991): [icon] "Mimosa herbacea procumbens & spinosa caule anguloso, siliquis quadrivalvibus" in Houstounia Gen. Pl. Amer.: t. 21. 1736 (LINN).

Current name: Mimosa quadrivalvis L. var. quadrivalvis (Fabaceae: Mimosoideae).
