Orialella boliviana

Description

Orialella boliviana (Distant, 1904b)

Fidicina basispes (in part) Walker 1858a: 15. (Tapajos, Brazil)

Cicada boliviana Distant 1904b: 331. (Chimali, Bolivia)

Remarks. Pogue (1996) lists the species as being found in Peru. However, the locality is similar to those reported here for O. aerizulae above. Based on the fact that there are multiple questionable records and records that have been shown to be other species (e.g. Sanborn 2016c; 2017a; 2019a), the specimens Pogue (1996) considered to be O. boliviana are considered to be O. aerizulae here. Since there are no other references to O. boliviana in Peru, the species is removed from the cicada fauna of Peru.

DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported from Bolivia and Brazil (Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2013). The listing of French Guiana in Sanborn (2013) was in error and the listing for Peru is considered erroneous as outlined above.
