Description

Staphylinus ornaticauda LeConte, 1863

Staphylinus ornaticauda was inadvertently included in the table of adventive Staphylinidae given by Majka and Klimaszewski (2008: 72). Th e species was previously treated in North America as Staphylinus erythropterus L., 1758, a Palaearctic species and was accidentally retained on the list of adventive species. Staphylinus ornaticauda is a native, Nearctic species.
