Description

Sobarocephala vockerothi Sasakawa

Sobarocephala vockerothi Sasakawa, 1993: 8.

Material examined. Philippines: Ƥ, Palawan, 3 km NE of Tinabog, 8. V. 1962, H. Holtmann; Ƥ, Busuanga Is., 4 km N of San Nicolas, 25. V. 1962, H. Holtmann.

Remarks. This species is similar to Sobarocephala megastylis sp. nov. in having a large surstylus (see Sasakawa 1993: figs 12, 13), but its first antennal flagellomere is broadly brown in the outer dorsal part, and the mesoscutum is brown bivittate laterad of the dc-lines.

Distribution. Malaysia, Philippines (new record).
