Oxyethira circaverna Kelley, 1983

A male of O. circaverna Kelley, 1983 was collected in Amazonas State, Brazil. This is the first record of this species in Brazil, which was previously reported from Argentina, Curacao, Ecuador, Panama, and Uruguay. Kelley (1984) assigned Oxyethira circaverna to the subgenus Dampfitrichia Mosely, 1937.

Material examined: BRAZIL: Amazonas: Rio Preto da Eva municipality, tributary to Rio Preto da Eva, 02°41’24.3”S 59°42’01.8”W, 24.iv.2004, J.L. Nessimian, light trap, 1 male (INPA).
