This paper positively addresses the problem that most NIME devices are ephemeralasting long enough to signal academic and technical prowess but rarely longerthan a few musical performances. We offer a case study that shows thatlongevity of use depends on stabilizing the interface and innovating theimplementation to maintain the required performance of the controller for theplayer.
