Description
Thrypticus pollinosus Verrall, 1912
Material examined. Bohemia: Plzeň-Bolevec (6246), Velký bolevecký rybník (pond), 49°46′29″N 13°23′28″E, 310 m, Elch / Schpl, 18.vii.2023, 1 ♂ (MCH).
Distribution. Widespread in Europe (Czech Republic, Great Britain, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden), European part of Russia (Leningrad and Voronezh Regions), and known also from China.
Status in CZ. The first CZ record of this species is presented herein.
Ecology. In Finland, this species is regarded as common in riparian habitats with Eleocharis and Juncus (Frey 1957). The CZ record originates from littoral vegetation (i.e., in water) with abundant Eleocharis palustris and a few Schoenoplectus lacustris plants growing nearby.
