Description

The article focuses on the work of professionals in the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS), in Brazil, with a focus on safe family and community relationships. The objective of the study was to explore how social assistance professionals perceive barriers and facilitators for actions related to safety in relationships involving children/adolescents and their families and prevention of contexts of violence. The methodology used in this research was a qualitative-exploratory approach, with data collected based on semi-structured interviews carried out with ten experts who work in social assistance. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis in six phases: data familiarization, coding, generation of themes, review of themes, definition of themes and preparation of a report. The results identified in the study show us that, given the insecurities increased by the health crisis, it is essential to prioritize public policies aimed at socio-relational security. It was found that reception security, qualified listening, bonds with professionals and collective actions are important processes which can generate protective relationships and contribute to identifying contexts of violence. To this end, it is necessary to guarantee professional qualification and invest in better working conditions. The present study allowed us to identify aspects that contribute to action with a focus on expanding dialogues about the quality of relationships, being relevant for thinking about paths between theory and practice aiming at protective relationships.
