Type locality: Taiwan, Kosempo

Distribution. Indian records: Hindostan (Walker 1859a), Pusa (Bihar), Central India, Shimla (HP), Calcutta (West Bengal), Andaman (Gupta 1994), Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andaman (Chandra et al. 2019), Kerala (Alex et al. 2021). Global records: Burma, Kilimanjaro (Hampson 1896b), Taiwan, Kosempo (Strand 1918a), Nepal (Yamanaka 1995), Burma, China (Amoy), East Africa (Kilimanjaro) (Bhattacharya 1997), Japan, Hong Kong (Chandra et al. 2019).
