Anchophthalmus (Kochogaster) Kamiński 2015

Description

SUBGENUS KOCHOGASTER KAMIŃSKI & RAŚ, 2011 STAT. NOV.

Type species: Anchophthalmus impressicollis Fairmaire, 1897; by original designation.

Diagnostic characters: Kochogaster is distinguished from the subgenus Anchophthalmus by having pronotal margins not erected upwards (character 15:0), hypomeron with coarse punctures (character 20:1) and disconnected bases of the first four elytral rows.

Kochogaster is separated from all other Platynotina by having the base of the fourth elytral interval protruding towards the front of the body.

Distribution: Kenya.

Species composition (two species): Anchophthalmus gerardi (Kamin´ ski & Iwan, 2013a) comb. nov., Anchophthalmus impressicollis Fairmaire, 1897.
