Description

Prodistylomys sp.

Prodistylomys nov. spec. 3 (Oliver et al. 2017a: 61).

Material: Left M1/2 (NHMW 2012/0058/0002) from Hotuliin Teeg (HTE-005).

Stratigraphic range: Early Miocene, Mongolian biozone D.

Geographical range: Valley of Lakes, Mongolia.

Description of the material flom Hotuliin Teeg (HTE-005)

M1/M2: There is only one damaged tooth. It is hypsodont and rooted with one root. The trigon is larger than the talon and kidney shaped. The metaflexid is long, almost connected to the lingual border of the teeth.

Remarks: Given the poor condition of the specimen, it is not possible to measure the tooth or to distinguish the most relevant morphological characteristics. We have therefore left this material of Prodistylomys without any specific assignation.
