Dotaciones pías de los escribanos públicos de Granada (c. 1500)

La cofradía de los escribanos de Granada fue una de las primeras en organizarse en la ciudad. Celebraba sus actos litúrgicos en la capilla de la virgen de la Antigua de la catedral, siendo esta su principal imagen de devoción. A lo largo del año desplegaba una notable actividad litúrgica en la que destacaban la misa sabatina y la salve, cantadas polifónicamente por la capilla de música de la catedral, así como la festividad anual de la Asunción que revestían de especial solemnidad. Como era habitual, se encargaban igualmente del entierro y sufragios de sus hermanos y de los familiares que convivían con ellos. The confraternity of public notaries of Granada was one of the first to be organized in the city. This brotherhood celebrated its liturgical services inside the cathedral, at the chapel of the Virgen de la Antigua, this being her main image of devotion. Throughout the year the confraternity organized a notable liturgical activity in which the Saturday mass and the salve service stood out, sung polyphonically by the music chapel of the cathedral, as well as the annual feast of the Assumption invested of special solemnity. As usual, they were also in charge of the burial and suffrages of their brothers and of the relatives who lived with them.
