The examination of French 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grade Citizenship and Moral Education Curriculum in the Context of Values and Skills
Description
The aim of this research is to examine the acquisitions in the Citizenship and Moral Education Curriculum taught in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades of primary school in France, in the context of the values and skills. The document analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research approaches, was used in the research. Content analysis was used to analyze the obtained data. As a result of the research; It was concluded that the general structure of the curriculum consists of four parts: objectives, application form and methods, skills and content. It was determined that there are three themes in the content part of the curriculum, and the main achievements and sub-acquisitions for each theme and educational status are included. The common values in the achievements in all three themes; values of respect, responsibility, sensitivity, patience and justice The value of sensitivity is widely included in the curriculum; patriotism, human rights, freedom, equality, fraternity and secularism values are also frequently included. The skills included in the target acquisitions in the themes; following common rules, communicating, empathy, active listening, critical thinking, cooperation, self-awareness, research, effective use of language, obeying laws, obeying rules, digital literacy, political literacy, innovative thinking, stereotyping and recognizing prejudice.
