Foreword: This book contains the proceedings of the 19th International Conference on Smart Business Technologies (ICSBT 2022) (formerly known as ICE-B - International Conference on e-Business), held in Lisbon, Portugal, from July 14-16, 2022. ICSBT was sponsored and organized by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC) and held in cooperation with the ACM SIGMIS (Special Interest Group on Management Information Systems). The Conference Program includes oral presentations (full papers and short papers) organized in four tracks: “Business Intelligence”, “Business Models and Business Processes”, “Collaboration and Interoperability” and “Technologies and Applications”. Furthermore, the plenary program includes three plenary keynote lectures, given by Prof. Henderik A. Proper (Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, Luxembourg), Prof. Alfredo Cuzzocrea (University of Calabria, Italy) and Prof. Walid Gaaloul (Télécom SudParis, France). ICSBT 2022 received 25 paper submissions, from more than 16 countries. To evaluate each submission, a double-blind paper review was performed by the Program Committee, whose members were carefully selected and are highly qualified researchers in ICSBT topic areas. Based on the provided classifications, 7 papers were selected as full pape rs, which led to a full paper acceptance ratio of 28%. The ICSBT conference series intends to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in smart business technologies. It serves to be a meeting place where information exchange occurs and where collaboration projects emerge from social contacts amongst the participants. As in previous editions of the conference, based on the reviewers’ evaluations and the presentations, selected authors from the conference will be invited to submit extended versions of their papers for a book that will be published by Springer with the best papers of ICSBT 2022. We would like to express our thanks to all participants, and particularly to the authors, whose reported research results provide the essence of this conference. Secondly, we owe gratitude to all members of the Program Committee and auxiliary reviewers, who helped us with their expertise and valuable time. We would also like to deeply thank the invited speakers for the excellent contribution in sharing their knowledge and vision. A successful conference involves more than paper presentations alone. It is also a meeting place, where ideas about new research projects and other ventures are discussed and debated. Therefore, a social event including a conference dinner/banquet has been planned for evening of July 14th in order to promote this kind of social networking. Finally, a word of appreciation for the hard work of the INSTICC team; organizing a conference of this level is a task that can only be achieved by the collaborative effort of a dedicated and highly capable and energetic team. We hope you find the program of ICSBT 2022 interesting and inspiring for your future research, and offering helpful references in future works.
