Osteoarthritic conditions of the knee joints of the rabbits were produced by instability with surgical procedure. Degenerative changes was studied utilizing the cryoscanning EM and TEM.
Results were as follows:
1. Surface of degenerative articular cartilage was mainly repaired by the juxta-articular fibrous tissue, synovial origin from peripheral rims.
2. Cell-cluster was concidered as an origin being intraarticular recovery sign in view of the ultrastructure and Aleian Blue staining.
3. Acid Mucopolysaccharide in chodrophyte was demonstrated by the Ruthenium Red staining.
