Abstract

Ecuador is rich in renewable resources, it has traditionally been supplied by hydroelectric plants combined with thermal energy from fossil fuels. Within the existing forms of energy, the electric power constitutes the quintessential energy source in the automation of many industrial processes. The industrial sector in Ecuador is heterogeneous and the evolution of each subsector in relation to efficiency and energy saving is different; so that the type of renewable energy to be applied must be based on the characteristics of each sector of the manufacture has in its production processes. The objective of the present study was to analyze the generation of electrical energy for industrial development in Ecuador from the use of renewable energy sources, for this a search was made of the available literature in scientific articles and updated documents.
