ABSTRACT
One factor affecting the need for development of domiciliary services is the adequacy of existing services to meet the needs of those old people already receiving them. The comments made by officials in the case study authorities on shortcomings in the quality of services related to the frequency or amount of service available, the availability of services at special times, such as nights, weekends and holiday times, and to the scope of the service.
