ABSTRACT
This chapter examines relational, institutional, and environmental factors as drivers or barriers to virtual exchange collaboration and programming. Using a comparative case study methodology, the chapter compares how these factors influence actor networks within two STEM-based virtual programs. The comparison offers key points of reflection for individuals and institutions on the conceptualization, design, and implementation of global, virtual exchange programs.
