(The Washington Post, January 8, 2023) The above issues are problems/challenges that people around the world have been interested in and have fiercely dealt with in the 21st century. The first news item dealt with the problem of unpredictable weather in European cities believed to be caused by climate change, which, of course, is not just a European problem but a global one. The second news item similarly reported on changes in weather patterns and how people in India responded to the unpredictable weather with technology. The third item described a novel coronavirus variant that was emerging and quickly spreading in the United States as the pandemic continued to wreak havoc around the world.
