ABSTRACT

Since the end of 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic has made the world witness a major global health crisis yet again. Although China had been its first victim, COVID-19 cases spread to other parts of the world like a wildfire owing to the easy international mobility prevalent in the twenty-first century. Consequently, nations across the globe implemented non-pharmaceutical control measures to avoid the transmission of this disease. Public awareness programmes about COVID-19 and the means of necessary protection against it are also being conducted through mass media and social media. Even though vaccination campaigns have been started in most countries, there is still a long way until every citizen gets access to it especially in developing countries like India. According to the Health Behaviour Model, positive factors increase pro-health behaviours, while negative factors decrease or inhibit them.
