ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the relationship between women and economic development, in particular, on the importance of reproductive work. It also analyzes the limits of liberal feminism and the challenges faced by indigenous feminists. It has three main parts: the first focuses on theoretical debates and feminist contributions to development; the second looks into liberal, Marxist and indigenous feminism; the last describes three examples from Latin America, each of which represents one of the schools of thought that the chapter addresses.
