ABSTRACT
Trade unions in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) today have come a long way from their early days but their history still conditions their responses to events and they still live in the shadow of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Yet China is changing dramatically, as its apparently breathtaking economic growth continues to truly transform the society.
