Abstract
Hyundai Motor Company & Kia Motors Corporation has developed vehicle communication system with a Vehicle Bluetooth technology for Location Based Services(LBS). This paper presents vehicle information management system for transmitting driving pattern, eco-driving, and fuel consumption records via Bluetooth communication. To ensure the stable communication of LBS, The system requirement for Class 1 Bluetooth Technology has been developed, in which wireless communication establishment condition is monitored for observing the level of link quality between Access Point(AP) and vehicles. The designated high-level link quality criteria guarantee communication reliability. This vehicle Bluetooth system has been successfully equipped to the 2009 new Hyundai Sonata model in South Korea.
