Abstract

A new fiber transfer model which modifies the previous paper, is presented. In the previous paper, the phenomenon of fiber transfer was assumed as the product of two phenomena, i.e.one of fiber gripping and one of fiber distribution to each roller. The new model in this paper supports this assumption, and moreover includes the geometrical definition of the gripping phenomenon. This definition enables us to predict Kv-P/Ps relation.
This paper describes two subjects.First, the new model is explained theoretically and experimentally. Secondly, for one example of this theory, the fact that P is decreased by setting up of a small plain roller between the carding rollers is evaluated quantitatively.
